What L'Hospitalet de l'Infant is like
It's a quiet seaside town, with a long beach, a marina and a promenade for unhurried walks.
The name comes from the hospital that the Infante Pere had built in the 14th century for travellers on the coast road, and the building still stands in the centre.
It's part of the municipality of Vandellòs i l'Hospitalet de l'Infant: Vandellòs is the inland village, and the coast carries on south through L'Almadrava to the boundary with L'Ametlla de Mar. It has a railway station and a motorway exit.
